Directions to Whiteburnshank

From South - Leave A1 and join A697 after Morpeth. Take B6344 and go through Rothbury and then B6341 through Thropton. Turn right a few miles after Thropton - signposted to Alwinton and Harbottle. As you come into Alwinton, cross the bridge and turn right at the sign for Clennell Hall/Milkhope. Keep on the road past Clennell, following the forest road. Do not turn left towards Kidlandlee, but carry on and turn left after the first ford. Follow road up to Whiteburnshank bearing left at the sheepfold.
